Breath + Bandha with Susannah van der Wende

Bandhas are energetic lock points hidden in the depths of the internal body. Prana is life force that can be expanded and channeled through pranayama. Asana is a physical posture. When all three are combined skillfully the yoga practice is refined physically and interacts with thoughts, emotions, reactions, and intentions.
In many yogic texts it is written that yoga begins at the navel. It is the center from which we derive our sense of self and initiate all movement. It is also an important source of vitality and health in the body. This workshop will explore the physical, emotional, and subtle realms of the navel, which will include practicing uddiyana bandha, kundalini kriya, breath work, asana and meditation. You will learn and practice each bandha (Mula Bandha, Uddyjana, and Jalandhara Bandha). You will also learn how to apply bandhas in asana to create a more patient and supported practice.
 

Recommendation: do not eat anything at least 2 hours before the workshop begins.
