Sally ‘washed-ashore’ in 1986 as a summer resident and immediately made the Cape her home. She has been teaching yoga for 15 years and holds her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Quiet Mind Yoga. She has been teaching fitness for just shy of 30 years and is certified in group fitness and personal training with the American Council on Exercise.
This past summer (2014), Sally expanded her fitness teaching by certifying with PSUPA in Level I Flatwater Stand Up Paddle Board with Supfari Adventures. She also teaches Yoga on the Board! Most recently, she has complete Level I Pilates Reformer Teacher Training with Balanced Body and will be teaching Reformer Flow at OYP beginning in the New Year!
Over the past 20 years, Sally’s yoga practice has been steady and evolving. She studies regularly and primarily with Petra Ledkovsky, Tricia Duffy, Tias Little and Sarah Powers. She also loves to experience the teachings of the many awesome local and visiting instructors. To practice with purpose, integrity, openness and just the right amount of challenge is the cornerstone of Sally’s classes and her focus on alignment, safety, breath and mindfulness creates an environment that allows her students to fully express each pose. Her favorite mantra is “patience, compassion and kindness.” She encourages her students to keep this mantra present during their practice and in their daily lives.
