Jenna Sammartino, E-RYT 200, is a yoga teacher, wordsmith, and garden nurturer who has called Cape Cod home for over 20 years. Her love of the natural world and her affinity for the art of word-craft are woven through her teachings.
Jenna began exploring yoga in earnest nearly 20 years ago, and has been teaching since 2007. She is guided by teachers who blend the practice of yoga with Buddhist philosophy and meditation. An avid student, today she studies primarily with master teachers Tias and Surya Little of Prajna Yoga, with whom she’s currently completing an advanced 300-hour credentialing. She has completed Prajna’s SATYA I training and numerous workshops and intensives. Jenna has also studied yin yoga with Sarah Powers and completed Powers’ Level I Insight Yoga teacher training. Her initial 200-hour certification is from Nosara Yoga Institute, where she studied under the expert tutelage of Don and Amba Stapleton.
Jenna brings a lighthearted and gentle quality to her own practice and seeks to share that approach with students. In the soft flow of Jenna’s classes, alignment is highlighted as a tool for keeping the body safe and building strength. However, the end goal of practice is not the cultivation of an externally perfected asana but rather the internal development of attention, awareness, and insight.
